Here's the story...
Having a begun my design career in more traditional graphic design, I found myself working in commercial fashion where I learned so much about the fast fashion industry and ever changing consumer.
One of my biggest design inspirations throughout my career has been vintage garments. The colour, the wildness and random designs you can find in a vintage store has always been something I have searched for when putting together a unique look. I love how, throughout the lifetime of a second hand garment, the context changes constantly, giving it new life or meaning. I always imagine how funny that a big burly man may have worn a t-shirt in a bar fight and now I'm wearing it with sequins to dinner.
One thing that got to me though, is that even if you found an amazing print in a vintage store you couldn’t guarantee it was your size, the shape of the t-shirt was a good fit or how long it would last because of the age of the fabric. My own collection of vintage t-shirts bought on my travels abroad have been well worn and loved and been washed to the point of them literally falling apart.
With this passion for vintage, you might wonder why not just start a vintage store… but after years of considering different ways to start my own thing, I found there was a place for good quality, thick, but soft cotton graphic t-shirts that fit well across all sizes and had unique, considered designs & typography different to what offered in a high street store. My limited designs have been crafted with a lot of love and are inspired by vintage graphics and stories. I will drop new styles throughout the year based on my own timeline rather than the fashion industry’s specified times. Follow along to hear about new drops <3
